The D6 dynamic instrument microphone is used for stage, studio, and broadcast applications. Designed with a cardioid pickup pattern for isolation and feedback control, the D6 drum microphone is equipped with a VLM™ diaphragm for natural, accurate sound reproduction.
Lightweight, compact, and easy to position, the D6 cardioid microphone is an excellent choice for miking instruments requiring extended low-frequency reproduction such as kick drums, large toms, and bass cabinets. The D6’s transformerless design, low impedance, and balanced output allow for interference-free performance.
Designed, machined, assembled, and tested by Audix in the USA.
Sounds good no matter where you place it
Drums are one of the most challenging instruments to record, especially when trying to replicate the sound of a previous recording. The Audix D6 is designed to sound good in any position and it is not dependent on finding the “sweet spot” of the drum. This is great since you know that time after time, the kick will sound great!
Build to withstand the rigors of studio and stage
Here, we favor the D6 in both studio and stage applications. For starters, this microphone has a maximum SPL of 144dB — in other words, more than enough to withstand a pounding kick drum or thumping bass cabinet. Additionally, its rugged machined aluminum housing can easily withstand whatever you throw at it.
